This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems within the company's fruit packhouse operations. You will work with both automated and manual systems, ensuring optimal performance, troubleshooting faults, and driving continuous improvement while adhering to safety standards.Key Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in the packhouse (sorting lines, conveyor systems, pumps, packing machinery)

Troubleshoot electrical faults and implement corrective actionsConduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime using the Shopware asset management systemRead and interpret electrical schematics and technical manualsEnsure compliance with electrical safety regulations and standards (SANS 10142-1)Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventoryCollaborate with technical staff and production teamsIdentify opportunities for system improvements and energy efficiencyPotentially supervise junior electricians or apprenticesBe available for on-call duties or extended hours during peak seasonAbout YouRelevant Electrical Trade Test Certificate (Red Seal)Valid Wiremans License (Three Phase non-negotiable)Valid Drivers Licence (Code B/08)PLC experience (Delta, Schneider, Siemens, Allen-Bradley) highly advantageousExperience with Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) and motor controlComputer literacy and familiarity with automated systemsFirst Aid and Safety trainingMatric qualificationPhysically fit, able to work at heights, and willing to work overtime with standby responsibilities
