A large international manufacturing and production business is seeking to employ a Technical Buyer or Procurement Officer in the bigger Paarl, Cape Winelands area.You will be responsible for the procurement of technical, production, and project-related purchases and procurement-related administration.Requirements
±3 years' work experience in procurement (Technical/mechanical procurement experience an advantage but not essential)
Experience or exposure to logistics and supply chain will be an advantage, but not essential.
A relevant qualification will be beneficial, but not essential.
Main Responsibilities
Forecast purchases based on sales and production plans.
Create and maintain relationships with suppliers.
Review prices, product specifications, and lead times from various suppliers.
Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best prices.
Maintain and update supplier database.
Coordinate and communicate purchases, collections, and deliveries with all parts of the business.
Manage outstanding orders and deliveries.
Standardise procurement procedures, reduce processing time and improve delivery schedules.
Place purchase orders.
Obtain supplier price lists.
Prepare and issue purchase orders.
Prepare purchase contracts.
Implement and manage a stock-keeping and procurement system for on-site stores.
Ad Hoc or other related duties as assigned.
Salary - R25000 / month basic salary, negotiable dependant on skills and experience.HOW TO APPLY
