- Act as the interface between suppliers and business stakeholders, providing expert advice on commodity management.
- Develop and implement commodity strategies in line with business objectives.
- Manage supplier and customer relationships, addressing complaints and ensuring service excellence.
- Drive sourcing strategies to achieve the lowest possible total cost of ownership for materials and equipment.
- Analyse procurement trends, value chains, and cost drivers to identify improvements and cost savings.
- Oversee tender processes including scope development, tender pack compilation, evaluation, adjudication, and supplier recommendations.
- Draft, review, and administer sourcing contracts and agreements.
- Monitor and manage supplier performance, price adjustments, and contract amendments.
- Support budgeting, project planning, and cost control processes.
- Transfer best practices and ensure continuous improvement of commodity strategies.
- Minimum: NQF 6 (Diploma/Advanced Certificate in Supply Chain).
- Preferred: NQF 7 (Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Supply Chain).
- Minimum 6 years’ supply chain or commercial experience, including at least 4 years in commodity management or procurement within the mining industry.
- Strong knowledge of SAP MM.
- Experience with Coupa Sourcing and contract management system (advantageous).
- Experience in transport procurement and contracts management (preferred).
- Medically fit for the mining operational environment.
