- Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence
- Monitor and authorize entrance of vehicles or people in the property
- Remove wrongdoers or trespassers from the area
- Secure all exits, doors and windows after end of operations
- Check surveillance cameras periodically to identify disruptions or unlawful acts
- Investigate people for suspicious activity or possessions
- Respond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation
- Provide assistance to people in need
- Apprehend and detain perpetrators according to legal protocol before arrival of authorities
- Submit reports of daily surveillance activity and important occurrences
- Grade B - Psira registered and up to date
- Grade 12
- Must be physically fit and healthy to work on an industrial site – ability to be on your feet whole day
- The candidate must be able to perform well in a high intensity stressful environment
- ATG scanner knowledge will be advantageous
- Good interpersonal skills are important
- The candidate must be able to compile various security related reports
- The candidate must show ability and willingness to be fast tracked to become a reliever shift supervisor.
- The candidate must have a sober lifestyle - Alcohol tests are conducted daily on all officers reporting for and off duty.
- The candidate will be expected to attend various development training sessions in order to become a proficient security officer. Normally these training sessions are scheduled during rest days without remuneration. No more than one session per month with a company allowance towards travelling cost.
- This is a self-posting position - The candidate must be able to self-post in time to the site in Stellenbosch without any problems for every shift as rostered. - Reliable transport will have to be proved.
