Our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their Projects & Engineering team. This critical role focuses on achieving engineering excellence through CAD design, mechanical calculations, and adherence to international and local standards. You'll also be a key interface for managing engineering data and systems like SAP.Key Responsibilities:
Engineering Systems & Data: Manage and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) in SAP. Create and update item codes while ensuring compliance. Extract and analyze technical data from systems and support departments with accurate BOM data.
CAD Design & Drafting: Proficiently use CAD software (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks) to produce detailed 2D and 3D drawings. Apply efficient drafting methods and maintain drawing standards (including ISO 9001).
Mechanical Design & Calculations: Perform load calculations, prepare mechanical certification documentation, and apply knowledge of tolerances and material specifications. Review and approve technical drawings before manufacturing.
Stakeholder Interfaces: Collaborate with clients for technical requirements and solutions. Conduct site visits, liaise with Head Office for engineering alignment, and coordinate with workshops and suppliers.
HSEQ & Improvement: Adhere to all HSEQ Management System requirements and Occupational Health and Safety Act. Support continuous improvement initiatives and resolve discrepancies (BOMs, drawings, component compatibility).Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSc or BEng).
3-5 years of experience in mechanical drafting and design.
Proficiency in CAD software (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks).
