- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Develop course material for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching modules.
- Attract external funding and provide research supervision to postgraduate students.
- Provide expertise in Functional Analysis, Abstract Algebra or Discreet Mathematics
- Perform teaching-related and departmental administrative duties.
- Conduct research and publish results in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- Interact with relevant industry groups, government departments and independent research institutes (where applicable) to further the goals of the Department and of the University.
- Provide some academic leadership.
- Demonstrated abilities to teach undergraduate students and supervise postgraduate students.
- Proven research and publication record.
- NRF-rated or evidence that an application is likely to be successful within three years of appointment.
- A proven record of attracting external funding for research.
- Ability to work with and contribute to a team effort.
- Proven record or potential for providing some academic leadership.
- Minimum qualification is a Ph.D. degree relevant to the field of Mathematics.
- Evidence of successful teaching at all levels and throughput.
- Minimum of 1-5 years relevant working experience, including lecturing experience.
- Evidence of research publications in national accredited conferences and/or DHET accredited journals in related fields.
- Minimum qualification is a Ph.D. degree relevant to the field of Mathematics.
- Minimum of 3-7 years relevant working experience, with an academic related profile. This includes lecturing experience at all levels.
- Evidence of successful postgraduate supervision and throughput.
- Evidence of participating and or leading in a research team or project.
- Evidence of research publications in some national and international accredited conferences and/or DHET accredited journals in related fields.
- Evidence of leadership ability.
- A comprehensive CV must accompany the application, together with a letter motivating why the candidate should be considered for the post.
- Candidates may be required to deliver a short lecture on an approved topic.
