The maintenance Assistant supports the maintenance team by performing routine repairs, inspections, and upkeep of buildings, equipment, and facilities. This role ensures that workspaces remain safe, functional, and in good condition.Key Duties & Responsibilities:Assist in the repair and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and structural systems.Perform basic carpentry, painting, and general building repairs.Conduct routine inspections of equipment, tools, and facilities to identify maintenance needs.Help with the installation and setup of machinery, furniture, and fixtures.Clean and maintain workshop areas, tools, and equipment.Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders.Assist with preventative maintenance schedules.Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and basic maintenance equipment.Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations.Support the senior maintenance technician or supervisor as needed.Requirements:Education & Experience:High school diploma or equivalent (technical certificate an advantage).Previous experience in maintenance, handyman work, or a related role is preferred.Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.Skills & Competencies:Good practical skills in repairs and troubleshooting.Ability to work with hand tools and power tools.Basic understanding of workplace safety practices.Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.Good communication and problem-solving skills.Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks.Other Requirements:Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or after-hours for urgent repairs.The post appeared first on .
