Valid work permit holders will also be considered.A leading global IT environment is seeking an experienced Operations Configuration Specialist to join a high-performing team focused on enterprise-level IT Service Management. The role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and methodologies in a dynamic, international environment.Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Configuration Management and CMDB-related activities.
- Establish, develop, and improve Service Configuration processes, including integration points with related ITSM processes.
- Plan and coordinate all CMDB-related activities and ensure adherence to standards.
- Consult on Configuration Management processes and tools across IT infrastructure environments.
- Monitor and drive configuration data quality and alignment with defined KPIs.
- Ensure compliance with process controls and data standards across teams.
- Collaborate with ITSM, enterprise architecture, and infrastructure stakeholders.
- Develop training content and lead knowledge-sharing sessions for stakeholders and team members.
- Maintain and update documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge articles.
- Report insights, requirements, and improvement suggestions to process and product owners.
- Proven experience in IT Service Management (ITSM), including multi-team and multi-region collaboration.
- Extensive experience with large-scale ITSM platforms (e.g. ServiceNow, BMC Remedy Helix).
- Proficient in Configuration Management Database (CMDB), CI data models, and Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
- Strong practical knowledge of ITIL v4 principles and processes.
- Familiarity with Agile Working Model (AWM) and ability to fulfill team charter responsibilities.
- Experience designing and maintaining service models using ServiceNow CSDM.
- Understanding of IT infrastructure environments and technologies, including:
- Operating systems (Windows, Linux)
- Data Centres, Networks, Databases, Web and Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure)
- Storage and middleware platforms
- Ability to conceptualise complex technical information and perform detailed analysis.
- Experience developing governance frameworks to ensure data quality and verification.
- Skilled in training delivery and providing SME-level input in knowledge-sharing forums.
- Strong grasp of enterprise architecture principles and frameworks.
- Experience working with DevOps processes and toolchains.
- Background in Release Management for critical production environments.
- Experience working in Agile teams and using Agile tools.
- Understanding of project management methodologies in software development.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on improving processes and operational efficiency.
- Capable of driving initiatives to completion within deadlines, including progress reporting.
- Strong documentation skills and experience creating SOPs aligned with Agile models.
- Knowledge of IT Process Steering and Governance frameworks.
- Familiarity with IT Operations and support models.
- Previous experience in large global IT organisations (advantageous).
- German language skills beneficial but not mandatory.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work across cultural and organisational boundaries.
- Resilience under pressure, strong self-motivation, and an independent learning mindset.
- Proactive, team-oriented approach with flexibility to take on varying tasks.
- Information Technology degree or diploma.
- Fluent English communication skills (spoken and written).
- ServiceNow certifications (ITSM Fundamentals, CSDM, CMDB).
- ITIL v4 certification (advantageous).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in IT Service Management roles.
- Exposure to an enterprise-scale, global IT landscape.
