Our client within the Steel Service Centre industry is seeking a General Manager to join their team in Wadeville, GermistonWe are looking for an individual who not only possesses the necessary skills and experience but also aligns with their company’s growth trajectory. It is essential that the candidate has established connections within the local industry and potentially Africa, as this will help facilitate business development and foster strategic partnerships.Experienced General Manager responsible for overseeing daily operations, tender management, quality control, and team leadership. Skilled in budget planning, strategic development, and performance analysis, with a strong focus on regulatory compliance, supplier relations, and customer satisfaction.Duties and Responsibilities:Operational Oversight: Manage daily operations all round.Tender Management: Oversee the processing of tenders from initial submission to final approval, ensuring that all aspects, including pricing and specifications, are meticulously handled. This includes quoting from first principal and calculating rates per kg and ensuring competitive pricing.Quality Control: Maintain a strong understanding of quality control (QC) processes. This involves reviewing QC data books, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and implementing necessary improvements.Team Leadership: Lead and motivate the team, fostering a positive work environment. This includes setting performance goals, conducting evaluations, and providing training and development opportunities.Budget Management:
Develop and manage budgets for various departments, ensuring that financial targets are met and identifying areas for cost reduction.Strategic Planning:
Collaborate with other executives to develop and implement strategic plans aimed at increasing efficiency and profitability.Supplier and Vendor Relations: Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure the timely delivery of materials and services.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all operations comply with local and international regulations regarding safety, health, and environmental standards.Performance Analysis: Analyse operational performance metrics and QC data to identify trends and areas for improvement, making data-driven decisions.Customer Relations: Engage with clients to understand their needs and ensure that the product meets their expectations, addressing any concerns promptly.This role requires a balance of technical knowledge, management skills, and strategic thinking to drive the business forward effectivelyFor more information please contact:Kristen de Vasconcellos
