Manager Fitter & Turner - PotchefstroomFull job descriptionWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORThe purpose of this role is to provide management and leadership to Turner Machinist, plan and distribute the work while providing advise to the department with reference to turning requirements.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESManage Manufacturing toolrooms for execution of turning workOversee planning, scheduling and distribution of turning workCompile BOMs for ordering of material and equipmentProvide design review inputs for effecient turning activitiesCoordinate and allocate work to Turner machinists in accordance with directions on priority workEnsure work activities integration with other departments ie. Electrical, BoilmermakingOversee the assembly of tooling wrt fabricated toolingAssist subordinates with training on lathe and milling machines operationsPlan departmental budget for buying of spares and toolsProvide work progress updates as prescribed to the departmental Executive ManagerEnsure maintenance of machines and serviceabilityWHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVEGrade 12/N3 qualification in Engineering or equivalentDiploma in Mechanical Engineering would be advantageous.Trade Test as a Turner/ Fitter & Turner.At least 10 years’ experience in conventional Milling machines as an operator & setter.At least 10 years’ experience in CNC millingturning Machines (fanuc controls).At least 10 years’ experience in the use of conventional lathe.Knowledge of SAP.CNC programming knowledge and experience will be advantageous.CNC competency certificate will be advantageous.Knowledge of Edge cam software will be advantageous.An in-depth understanding and working knowledge of the manufacturing environment.Contract/contractor management knowledge and skills.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.Experience in planning and implementation of work activities.Good understanding of the explosive environment regulations.Interpersonal skills and ability to effectively collaborate with multiple disciplines both internally and externally.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Computer literacy: MS Packages.WHAT WE OFFER YOUMarket -related salary13th ChequeMedical AidPension FundIncentive BonusBursary Schemes
