In this role, youll be the day-to-day financial support partner to the Finance Manager, taking responsibility for data capturing, reconciliations, reporting, and cost control. Youll ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all financial activities, helping the business make sound decisions with reliable financial insights.
Youll thrive in a hybrid model: three days in the office (minimum five hours on-site each office day) and two days working remotely with a fixed schedule. Mondays are designated office days for team regrouping and alignment.Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Controls
Prepare draft monthly management accounts with variance commentary
Compile monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial statements
Assist with budgeting, forecasts, and activity rate loading
Maintain financial policies and controls as per company manual
Accounts Payable & Receivable
Review supplier reconciliations and ensure timely payments
Authorise new suppliers and payment batches before final release
Monitor and reconcile accounts receivable, ensuring accurate billing and collections
Process ad-hoc invoices and follow up on outstanding debtors
Cash Control & Treasury
Manage daily cash allocations and reconciliations
Ensure sufficient funds in accounts before releasing payments
Monitor current accounts and transfer excess funds to maximise interest returns
Payroll & Statutory Compliance
Capture and review payroll data and submissions
Assist with PAYE, UIF, SDL, and VAT reconciliations and submissions via SARS eFiling
Maintain accurate company secretarial files and statutory registers
Fixed Assets & Audit Support
Maintain and reconcile the Fixed Asset Register
Calculate and process monthly depreciation
Prepare audit files and assist with external audit queries
Ad-hoc Finance Duties
Provide accurate and timely support for business and management requestsJob Experience and Skills Required:
Education
Financial Diploma (minimum, recommended)
Financial Degree (advantageous)
Experience
Minimum 2 years experience as an Accountant or Junior Finance Analyst
Knowledge of Pastel Partner (required)
Sage Evolution and Nedbank processing experience (advantageous)
Skills & Competencies
MS Office proficiency (Intermediate/Advanced Excel essential)
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent time management and organisational ability
