The Junior Security Supervisor role focuses on implementing and monitoring systems, equipment, and procedures that enable Security operations to provide visitors and employees with outstanding security, first aid, and emergency services. Responsibilities include securing premises and personnel by patrolling properties, inspecting buildings, and overseeing the monitoring of surveillance equipment and access points to ensure health, safety, and security for all.Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure quality of security, incident, and risk investigations
- Deliver efficient service to promote guest satisfaction
- Supervise Security operations and security teams
- Ensure employees receive ongoing emergency training (drills) in safety and evacuations
- Implement processes, policies, procedures, and standards regulating security team activities
- Conduct regular risk assessments and implement preventative initiatives
- Reduce incidents involving loss or damage of guest, company, or third-party property
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all guests, visitors, employees, and company information
- Demonstrate personal and professional integrity of the highest standard
- Reduce safety-related (IOD) and security incidents
- Promote and maintain compliance and awareness of health, safety, and security issues
- Identify areas where waste can be reduced for financial savings
- Minimize hazards and risks
- Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in security or similar working environment
- PSIRA registered
- Valid driver’s license
- Firearm competency advantageous
- Matric
- Completion of formal education in security beneficial
- Strong communication skills
- Critical thinking ability and situational awareness for appropriate response
- Working knowledge of management practices and principles
- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Teamwork, cross-organizational collaboration, and building high-performance teams
