Industry: MiningOur client is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Junior Accountant to join their Finance Department. This position reports directly to the Financial Manager and plays a key role in supporting the company's financial operations.Key Responsibilities

Perform bank account reconciliations and cashbook administration
Process and administer sundry sales transactions
Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations and journal entries
Compile and calculate income tax schedules
Administer and submit VAT, PAYE, and Income Tax returns and reconciliations to SARS
Reconcile salaries and wages and process monthly payroll payments
Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records
Monitor financial performance and analyse budget and forecast variances
Process and reconcile inter-company transactions
Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register with the general ledger

Minimum RequirementsEducation:

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related Finance field
National Senior Certificate

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years in a similar accounting role

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Formulas, Pivots, Spreadsheets)
Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP, or similar)

Other Attributes:

Strong analytical and numerical skills
High attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
