This is a full-time opportunity suited to an experienced veterinarian who is confident managing cases independently and comfortable taking sole charge when required.Position Details: Full-time role
  • Monday to Friday: 07h30 – 18h30
  • Every second weekend:
  • Saturday: 08h30 – 11h30
  • Sunday: 10h00 – 11h30 (with afternoon/evening hospital rounds)
  • One afternoon off per week
  • One long weekend off per month (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
  • 21 days annual leave

  • Conduct thorough assessments, examinations, and diagnoses of patients’ medical conditions.
  • Perform surgical procedures, wound care, and treatments.
  • Carry out diagnostic laboratory work, imaging, and ultrasound where required.
  • Prescribe and manage appropriate medical treatments.
  • Promote preventative health through vaccinations and wellness care.
  • Educate and guide clients on optimal pet care and lifestyle choices.
  • Perform humane euthanasia when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics, policies, and legislation.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
Minimum Requirements
  • BVSc degree with current SAVC registration.
  • CPD requirements fully up to date.
  • Strong clinical, diagnostic, and surgical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Commitment to professional growth and lifelong learning.
  • A genuine love for animals and dedication to their welfare.
  • 5+ years’ experience in small animal practice (preferred).
  • Affiliation with VDA or Vetprotect.
