Job Summary You will be responsible for understanding complex business needs, translating them into effective Odoo configurations, and delivering tailored solutions that drive significant customer success. Your expertise will be key in configuring modules, designing workflows, and guiding clients from discovery to go-live and beyond.Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-depth discovery sessions with clients to analyse and understand their business processes and requirements.
  • Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications and Odoo configuration plans.
  • Configure and customize standard and custom Odoo modules, including but not limited to:
  • Sales, Purchasing, and Inventory
  • CRM and Case Management
  • Accounting and Manufacturing
  • Workflow and Approval Chains
  • Customise business rules, workflows, and automated approval routes using Odoo's configuration tools.
  • Lead solution design workshops, create comprehensive documentation, and develop user manuals.
  • Support and manage data migration, system testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and go-live activities.
  • Deliver engaging and effective training sessions to clients and provide ongoing post-implementation support.
  • Collaborate closely with the technical development team on customisations and validate all delivered functionality.
  • Stay current with the latest Odoo features and updates, contributing to internal best practices.
Requirements:
  • 2–4 years of hands-on experience as an Odoo Functional Consultant or in a similar ERP implementation role.
  • Strong functional knowledge of core Odoo modules.
  • Proven track record in requirements gathering, writing functional specs, and delivering full-lifecycle ERP solutions.
  • Demonstrable ability to configure complex workflows, approval routes, and module parameters.
  • Solid understanding of integrated business processes within industries such as manufacturing, distribution, or services.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Comfortable engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders, from end-users to technical developers.
Advantageous Skills:
  • Hands-on experience with Odoo Studio or other low-code configuration platforms.
  • Basic knowledge of XML or Python.
  • Familiarity with South African VAT, payroll, or other local regulatory requirements.
  • Odoo functional certifications.
