
Business Analyst

- Identify, assess and provide solutions to business requirements
- Liaise with appropriate stakeholders to identify, assess, and document business requirements
- Carry out the relevant assessment to determine if solutions to business requirements currently exist within or outside the business unit, and if not, whether new solutions are feasible
- Analyse impact of proposed solution across the business, develop use cases to explain/demonstrate business requirements/specifications to IT team, and contribute a business or process perspective during design reviews
- Engage and collaborate with cross functional teams
- Assist testing/QA team to ensure that requirements documentation can be easily translated into test plans, and ensure that the proper testing plans have been completed
- Facilitate implementation of new functionality through the development of appropriate documentation
- Work with test team to develop system integration test scripts and ensure the testing results correspond to the business expectations
- NQF Level 7: Bachelor's or advanced degree in business or technical-related discipline
- Business Analyst Certification (FTI) (advantageous)
- Post graduate degree in Business (advantageous)
- 3 to 5 years of experience in providing consulting to senior business management required.
- Experience in the insurance or financial services industry is a requirement.
- Experience in writing user stories and acceptance criteria based on business requirement in an agile development environment.
- Must be a strong performer, capable of consistently producing deliverables on time.
- Must possess strong SQL skills
- Experience working in agile (scrum) development environment
- Domain knowledge in Insurance, financial & regulatory reporting is a plus
- Technical expertise working on database appliances, columnar database and big data (e.g. Hadoop, SQL Server), ETL (SSIS, Ab Initio, Data stage, Informatica) and BI (SSRS, PowerBI, Tableau, Cognos) is preferable.
- Experience working with regulatory projects (Basel III, PoPI, BCBS 239) is a plus.
