Job Title: AccountantReports to: Financial ManagerDirect Reports: N/APosition Location: Western CapePurpose of Position/ObjectiveManages financial transactions, budgeting, and reporting. Handles invoices, and expenses, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. They may also analyse financial data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings. Additionally, they collaborate with other departments to supportfinancial decision-making and ensure the shopping center's financial health.Duties and ResponsibilitiesFinancial Planning and Strategy
  • Assist in strategic financial planning initiatives, such as expansion projects or capital investments.
  • Provide financial analysis and support for decision-making, including evaluating the financial feasibility of new initiatives.
  • Collaborate with management to develop long-term financial strategies to support the shopping center's growth objectives.
Financial Reporting and Analysis
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial analysis.
Budgeting and Forecasting • Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts for the shopping center.
  • Monitor budget performance and identify areas of concern
or potential savings.
  • Collaborate with management to adjust budgets and forecasts as needed.
Accounts Payable and Receivable Management
  • Oversee accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and vendor management.
  • Manage accounts receivable, ensuring timely collection of rent and other revenues.
  • Monitor cash flow to optimise working capital management. Internal Controls and Compliance
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial accuracy.
  • Conduct periodic audits to verify compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Implement corrective actions to address any deficiencies or risks identified during audits.
Financial Systems Management
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems, namely the MDA system.
  • Train staff on the use of financial systems and ensure data integrity.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements to streamline financial operations.

  • Qualifications • Accounting Bachelors Degree
  • Experience • 3 year Experience in a similar role
