You will be responsible for developing and maintaining long-term relationships with existing and new school customers and overseeing their sales requirements. As a local, family-owned and operated business, people matter to us. We will be looking for the perfect fit. This is a sales position, but it might also suit a person with a background in the education sector (eg, ex-teacher or admin)

Manage a portfolio of school accounts
Develop and maintain positive relationships with schools
Act as the point of contact and handle customers individual needs and enquiries
Generate new business using existing and potential customer networks (this will include attending workshops, expos, school events, golf days etc)
Resolve conflict and provide solutions to customers in a timely manner
Report on the status of accounts and transactions weekly
Set and track sales account targets, aligned with company objectives
Suggest actions to improve sales performance and identify opportunities for growth

Hands on experience in sales and an ability to deliver excellent customer experience
Knowledge of CRM software and MS Office (MS Excel and Outlook in particular)
Understanding of sales performance metrics
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
An empathetic nature
An understanding of the workings of a school
An ability to deliver projects and answer inquiries on time
Business acumen with a problem-solving attitude, self-confidence and resilience
Excellent time-management skills and attention to detail
A reliable vehicle, allowing you to visit schools in and around Pietermaritzburg
