Our client, a prestigious law firm based in Sandton, Johannesburg, is currently seeking a Legal Associate with 2-3 years of experience in a top law firm. This role is an exceptional opportunity to specialize in Competition Law, contributing expertise to high-profile cases and regulatory matters.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice on various aspects of competition law, including antitrust law, merger control, cartel investigations, and compliance matters.
- Prepare and submit merger notifications to competition authorities.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on both local and international competition law developments.
- Draft and review legal documents such as opinions, reports, and regulatory submissions.
- Work closely with senior lawyers to devise effective strategies for clients on competition law issues.
- Maintain regular client communication to understand their business objectives and provide customized legal solutions.
- Participate actively in business development activities, including seminars, workshops, and client presentations.Qualifications:
- LLB degree from a reputable university.
- Must be an admitted attorney in South Africa.
- 2-3 years of post-qualification experience in competition law at a well-regarded law firm.
- A strong grasp of competition law and regulatory practices in South Africa.
- Prior experience interacting with regulatory bodies, particularly the Competition Commission and Tribunal, is highly advantageous.Skills:
