STELO is a projects, operations and maintenance company specialising in starting up new mines. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance activities for the commissioning and ramp up of a lithium spodumene operation.Job Description:Role Overview: As the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient commissioning, startup and ramp up of operations of the lithium processing plant in west africa. Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing day-to-day maintenance, optimizing plant performance, coordinating maintenance activities, and leading a team of skilled professionals to maximize uptime and productivity.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise all maintenance activities within the lithium processing plant, with a focus on crushing and grinding, flotation, and dewatering processes.
- Develop and implement maintenance procedures and protocols to optimize plant efficiency and productivity in these specialized areas.
- Monitor maintenance parameters and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs for equipment used in dense media separation, flotation, crushing and grinding, and dewatering processes to minimize downtime and ensure reliable plant operation.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule and prioritize equipment inspections, repairs, and upgrades in these specialized areas.
- Forecast spare parts and maintenance supply requirements for equipment and support the procurement department to maintain adequate inventory levels.
- Provide leadership and guidance to maintenance teams, particularly in specialized areas such as dense media separation, flotation, crushing and grinding, and dewatering.
- Foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement among team members.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide coaching and training as needed, and identify opportunities for skills development in these specialized areas.
- Develop and manage budgets for maintenance activities.
- Optimize resource allocation, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to meet maintenance targets
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including safety, environmental, and asset integrity standards, particularly as they relate to dense media separation, flotation, crushing and grinding, and dewatering processes.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders to maintain necessary permits and licenses for operations in these specialized areas.
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical- or Electrical Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in the mining or mineral processing industry, with a focus on dense media separation, flotation, crushing and grinding, and dewatering processes.
- Strong technical knowledge of maintenance practices, specifically in dense media separation, flotation, crushing and grinding, and dewatering processes.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to effectively manage and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and safety standards in the mining industry, particularly as they relate to dense media separation, flotation, crushing and grinding, and dewatering processes.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools for plant monitoring and maintenance management
- French proficiency is an advantage

- 6 week on, 3 week off rotation.
