Business Unit Manager - ChloorkopFull job descriptionJob DescriptionSales ManagementEnsure that all functions affecting the Business Unit are operating as optimally as possible. Oversee and control margins.Ensure that division profitability is above the average as compared with similar businesses in the market placeEnsure healthy working platform being materialised in line with division and company objectivesMeeting tight deadlines across the businessEnsure market data is relevant and updated – market intelligencePrice negotiations at senior levelsPeople ManagementEnsuring that staff is motivated, driven and discharging duties to achieve targets set. Manage KPI process.Ensure that all Sales representatives share the common goal as set out in the strategic planManage, assist and coach sales team including joint calling on customersDirecting and assertively pushing the sales team to promote new products and look at new marketsEnsure the sales team is working with CRM, working platform and other systems and it is updated regularlyCommunicationMaintain healthy relationships with manufacturing, technical, accounts and warehouse departmentsForecasting on a monthly basisReporting back on monthly sales vs previous year vs budget with commentsStrategicEnsuring BU is operating in the right segments – exit strategically if neededEnsure regular contact with technology principals to update technology and strengthen relationshipsEnsure that the product range is maintained within reasonable limitsSetting a clear sales strategy for local and abroad marketsActively looking for opportunities outside the current portfolio for possible acquisitionsManage product range to include new technology partners and product based on market demandIndustry/market knowledge within all current industries responsible forAttending conference as needed within the industry12 month and 24 month budgeting and Strategizing the business outlook for 3-5 years and ensure materialization of objectivesContribution to setting and achievement of sustainability targetsStock and Working capital ManagementEnsure that working capital ratios are maintained within the Groups requirementsMaintain debtors days, no bad debts, stock holding targets are met and sales team is taking stock as per forecastLegalScrutinizing contracts and raising concernsEnsure compliance legally as well as company policyInteraction with AECI Head office for legal, risk and GovernanceCustomer ManagementVisit Senior Customers regularly and other customers when needed – relationship building at high levelsManaging a portfolio of key account customers including healthy and active multilevel relationshipsTechnical presentations at customers on new product launchesQualifications & ExperienceTechnical/Chemical backgroundBachelors degree or Advanced DiplomaDrivers LicenceMMDP level business post study or higherBSc in Chemistry would be a benefitAt least 5 years of Key Account Management experience; or5 years Sales management experienceSales experience within Mining and manufacturing/Industrial environments beneficialMust have sound understanding of pricing structures, Contracts and Cost driversMust currently be in the Chemical Industry and calling on customersMust be energetic
