Flexo Press Operator - Cape TownFull job descriptionFLEXO Press OperatorCAPE TOWN - OnsiteGeneral Summary:Operate the Colour Flexo press to manufacture colour, self-adhesive labels and tags, ensuring maximum profitability for shareholders and a positive, motivated environment for staff and customers.DETAILS OF FUNCTION:· Regular machine cleaning and preventative maintenance.· Machine make ready and job setup.· Running the Press at acceptable production speeds in register and to expected quality standards.· Colour matching to customer master file.· On press QC· Ensure print quality and colour accuracy and real time consistency.· Loading and offloading material.· Loading and offloading of dies.· Good time keeping· Must carry out any other tasks as assigned by his/her supervisor.· Produce the required quantity of labels per variant per order.· Maintain workplace in a neat and tidy state.· Report faults on equipment and machinery.· Keep records for quality and production and time spent on the job. (Fill in job cards completely.)· Report non-conformities and suggest improvements.· Adhere to ISO 22000 standards and Health and safety regulations, with the ultimate goal of maximizing customer satisfaction and ensuring Food Safety.Report to: Production ManagerEXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS· Basic Literacy - ability to read and understand instructions.· Basic Numeracy – ability to count.· Physically fit.· Good communication skills.· Attention to detail.· Ability to read and understand measuring instruments.· Ability to read and understand a job card.· Ability to operate a 6-8 colour flexo press at maximum machine speeds in register.· 5 years’ experience in a label manufacturing environment.· Ability to mount flexo plates on a plate mounter.· A sound understanding of colour expectations, process printing and Pantone colours· A working understanding of setup waste, make ready time and cost drivers in flexo printing.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentApplication Question(s):Do you have reliable transportLABEL PRINTING EXPERIENCE - NOT NEGOTIABLEAbility to Commute:Cape Town, Western Cape (Required)
