Site Manager - DurbanvilleFull job descriptionAre you a strong plant/site manager who is passionate about excellence in everything that you take on? Then this is a unique opportunity for you to be part of a rapidly growing SME Company. Kulu Eco-services, is a company focused on waste to fuels and is disrupting the way in which waste management is dealt with. We have already diverted thousands of tonnes of waste from landfill and produced large volumes of feedstock for bio-fuels.The role will report into the CEO and this person will be responsible for the hub performance through managing, developing people and maintenance (with maintenance manager) of the plant. The work environment is harsh, and you need to be a very “hands-on” manager. You should also have excellent communication and people skills. As well as desktop skills. Proficiency in project management or construction management is advantageous. You need to lead all teams on site to ensure optimal performance.The following is required:Project management for civil and plant construction projects.Management of the hub site in general, but with greater focus on plant performance and production and ensuring systems are maintained and followed,Management of staff is critical, (Strong personality required),Ensure optimal functioning of plant at all times,Ensure the plant generates a final product and meets quality standards,Ensure correct quality control standards are implemented on all levels, as required by the company and its clients,Develop, implement and maintain a sample and testing process for material processed through the plant,Set targets for staff and perform monthly performance reviews,Develop and implement the maintenance schedule and SOP’s,Keep stock and spare parts inventory up to date and well stocked,Ensure the implementation and maintenance of the Health and Safety plan,Accountable and responsible for upkeep of premises, be it in terms of cleanliness, safety, maintenance required and/or development/expansions/layout suggestions, etc.,Develop, implement and maintain a waste disposal plan,Plan and ensure processed material are exported timeously,Log and keep daily records of all production, projects and utilities information,Record keeping of maintenance work required, work done, cost involved, etc.Improvement of plant throughput and OEE,Weekly check-in with the Management team, in writing/ via Asana, at the start of each working week, to provide a “to do” list goals and “progress report”.Oversee all areas of the Waste processing (hub) operation, including interaction withclients dropping off waste, ensuring they follow strict protocols,Maintain proper records and logs of production, stock, by-products and collections,Be part of strategy, development and company growth, if required as pertaining to future hubs and plants,Complete presentation and reports as required and agreed to be presented to management,Ensure project budgets are updated and expenditure is managed according to the agreed budget, planned on a weekly basis,Ensuring all plant and machinery is functional and in good working order, and in accordance with technical specifications of manufacturers and the company,Ensure all guarantees, and warranties are listed and filed electronically for each technical component or pump etc.To identify & list any technical faults, or risks,To speedily remedy any such failure or perceived risks and to inform employer immediately,To identify, source and cost any technical equipment required for effective plant functioning, re-development, innovation or growth,To assist in the management of any sub-contractors, required for any work on any plants (ensuring at all times that directors are notified and informed of any financial decisions, technical decisions or implications)Management of staff working at the plant,Training and upskilling staff,Implement and maintain staff responsibilities and performance,Maintain staff records, time attendance, sick leave and annual leave,Plan staff shifts and working hours.REQUIREMENTSMust have at least 8 years of experience in building/civils, plant and and constructions,Must have a minimum of 10 years site managerial experience, and must be hands on manager,Must have a technical background and worked in a factory setting/ or have experience in working with machines and pants (E.g. Centrifuges/ Boilers/ piping, welding/ pumps),Must have own transport,Must be able to work under pressure, and should be prepared to work overtime or at night,Rapid completion of tasks and efficiency is critical,Extremely organized and structured approach to conducting work,Must have an ability to work with people.Job Type: Full-timeSalary: R35 000,00 - R45 000,00 per monthAbility to commute/relocate:Durbanville, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Experience:Site Manager: 10 years (Required)Building/Civils/Construction: 7 years (Required)Application Deadline: 2024/03/22Expected Start Date: 2024/04/01
