Industrial Designer - Adelaide, AustraliaFull job descriptionWere you born to be an industrial designer? Ready to fast-track your career and accelerate your earning potential by transitioning from a great product designer to an entrepreneurial innovator?This is a highly challenging role where you'll be required to relocate to Adelaide, South Australia. You will deliver highly innovative conceptual and detailed designs, beyond our client’s expectations, and industrialize them with minimum supervision.You'll be responsible for hands on end to end creative and technical product design in a small dynamic consultancy, reporting to the company director. You'll have a keen sense of aesthetics, adaptability to diverse markets, high level lateral thinking ability, and engineering prowess. And you'll have a knack for graphic design, photography, and videography.You'll be working with a diverse range of external clients and industries, from high volume consumer products to complex electronic products and assemblies. And you'll be involved in the development of our own internal product design and commercial innovations, such as The Zing Flashing Cricket Wicket System.This role will give you the best of both worlds, firstly as a design consultant with a broad range of clientele. And with our two sister companies, where we operate closely together as their R&D teams, following designs from concept, right through to production in our on-site testing and manufacturing facilities.We'll mentor you in our entrepreneurial innovation system and you will assist and be trained in conceptualizing and commercialising new products for our two sister manufacturing companies, working closely with their commercial and production teams. You’ll gain exposure to the whole end to end innovation and commercialisation process, from research, brainstorming, proof of concept, financing, contracts, design, sales, marketing, manufacturing, logistics, and distribution. You will have the opportunity to for rapid professional development in a mentoring program with experienced entrepreneurs who’ve successfully conceived and turned innovative products and startups into enduring profitable companies.You'll have an aptitude for project management, customer communication and take every opportunity you're given for career growth.With a degree in Industrial Design and a minimum of 7 years of full-time experience, you'll exhibit exceptional creative and technical abilities. Proficiency in 3D CAD, creative design, detailed product design, a wide range of manufacturing technologies and visualization and presentation techniques is a must.Candidates must have an unblemished history of complying to visa terms and conditions and have a clean criminal record to obtain visas to travel internationally for business purposes.You will be prepared to relocate to take this position.Your broad talents and deep specialist skills may be underutilized in your current role.ResponsibilitiesCreative Aesthetic Design – ability to style products to suit a wide variety of markets.Engineering Design for prototyping and manufacture.Managing and working to a staged gated design process.Advanced 3D Parametric CAD modelling and detailing of products end to end, ideally in Inventor.Manufacturing Documentation and Revision ControlRendering and Animation. Ideally 3DS MaxProduct Graphic Design and Documentation using Adobe Creative SuiteVideo Editing using Adobe Premiere and After effects.Develop designs autonomously without micro-management from concept to production.Achieve highly innovative creative and technical desigsDesign for manufacture and assembly.Search beyond acceptable solutions for the exceptional solutions.Run design meetings with internal staff, clients, and external suppliers.Develop your skills and talents in our Innovation Mentorship System.RequirementsIndustrial Design Degree7 years full time experienceExcellent sketching and presentation skills.Advanced 3D CAD skills including high end surfacing, top-down parametric modelling, complex assemblies, clean modelling practices. Ideally Autodesk Inventor.Experience in broad range of high and low volume prototyping and manufacturing techniques.Experience with electronic product design and manufacture.Supplier evaluation and management experience.Understanding of manufacturing costs and price negotiation.Demonstrably high standards of creative and technical designAn aptitude for graphic design and photography.Adobe Creative Suite proficiency3D Visualization 3DS Max or Maya.High-level lateral and analytical problem-solving skills.Aptitude for engineering troubleshooting.Job Type: PermanentSalary: R88 500 - R115 000 per monthExperience:Industrial Design: 7 years (Preferred)
