Senior Metrologist/Calibration Technician
URGENT! (East Rand)ISO/IEC 17025 Accredited with technical skills to manage and perform calibration and identify any deviations from the calibration activities.Qualification
  • Matric with Math
  • Metrologist/Calibration/Instrumentation Training/Degree/Diploma
Requirements
  • Must have instrumentation/calibration/metrology experience within electrical/temperature/humidity/pressure/coating thickness/scales/torque/mechanical and electronic sectors.
  • Must have electrical/electronics experience.
  • Electronic fault finding and repair experience.
  • Be able to provide sales/service/installation/support and maintenance of ALL instrumentation. (Verification and Calibration).
  • Own car/site visits.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • No criminal record.
DutiesCalibration of equipment in the relevant discipline:
  • Verify relevant equipment as required;
  • Calibration of equipment daily as per Training Plan authorization;
  • Preparation of calibration equipment as per relevant requirements;
  • Complete the relevant information on the relevant network database / Job Card;
  • Ensure all the information is correctly transferred on the network database;
  • Ensure correctness of Calibration Certificate with results obtained;
  • Forward Job Card and information to administration for printing and processing;
Ensure that the calibration of the relevant disciplines of the calibration activities meet the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025, Accreditation Body and Regulatory at all times:
  • Always adhere and familiarise the quality management system, procedures and forms ;
  • Ensure that the forms are completed correctly;
  • Report any improvement of the technical procedures and forms as well as the calibration activities to the Technical Signatory;
  • Ensure the correction factors are used correctly when calculating the calibration results;
  • To adhere to the procedure for Handling, Storage and Transport to ensure the integrity of the calibration equipment.
  • Report any deviations in measurement results
  • Report any discrepancies in any documents, ie. Manuals, Procedures, master certificates, etc.
Execute intermediate checks:
  • Perform intermediate checks as required on the relevant equipment;
  • Report the results to the Technical Signatory if it is outside the upper and lower limits
Administration;
  • All relevant administration duties;
  • Communication between colleagues;
House Keeping;
  • Work station – daily tidiness and cleanliness
  • Test equipment – calibration up to date, familiarisation with manual and relevant procedures
  • General maintenance of test equipment
