CNC Programmer - SpringsFull job descriptionFunctional area: ProductionOnsite or Remote: OnsitePrimary Skills: Critical Thinking,Problem-solving,Coaching and MenCountry/Region: ZACity: SpringsLocation: Springs, GT, ZA, 1577Company name: Epiroc South Africa (Pty) LtdDate of posting: Mar 19, 2024The roleKey ResponsibilitiesTime and Attendance.On Occasion when requested will have to assist Production Engineer, Team Leaders, QSHE Manager.Programing of CNC lathes, milling machines and Multi axis machine centers.Continuous improvement projects in area and machine efficiencies.Setting and machining of 1st off pieces for new jobs.Reduction of tooling cost.Manage tooling inventories.Optimization of cycle time using the correct tooling for the specific application.Adherence to quality requirements as specified in the work instructions and drawings.Follow and implement Lean principals.Develop a training plan for CNC operators that will fit in with the desired operational requirements.Ensure that quality is not compromised.Ensure that CNC programs are updated and loaded on the machines and backed up on M drive.Will carry out any other function or duty as may be required in terms of "The Way We Do Things".Develop a training plan for CNC operators that will fit in with the desired operational requirements.Ensure that quality is not compromised.Perform planed task observations (PTO's).Ensure that the CNC programs are saved on M drive and maintained as per requirements.Will carry out any other function or duty as may be required in terms of "The Way We Do Things". Competences, skills and experienceExperience requirementsA proven track record in a production environment is essential.Good understanding of OHS and ISO.Strong CNC programming and setting knowledge.Lean manufacturing principals.Kaizen implementation skills.Knowledge of CAD/CAM Systems, Solidworks will be an added advantage. Knowledge / Educational requirementsGrade 12 qualification.Relevant trade qualification.Ability to manually load programs on to CNC machines.Mazatrol and Fanuc control experience.Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in CNC machining environment.Minimum of 3 years' experience as CNC programmer.Must be able to read drawings and perform mathematical calculations to calculate feeds and speeds for cutting tools.Machine tool experience.Computer literate MS Office.Good understanding of lean principles.
