REQUIREMENTS,EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING· At least 2years Case Management Admin support experience advantageous· Knowledgeand understanding of all funders· Computerliterate (proficient in Word, Excel & PowerPoint) with strongadministration and organizational skills· Anunderstanding of current coding structures in the SA Health Care Environment KEYCOMPETENCIES:· DocumentationPreparation: The case manager assistant helps gather and organize the necessarydocumentation required for the authorization process. · Data Entryand Administrative Tasks.· Communicationand Follow-up: The case manager assistant may communicate with the medicalscheme on behalf of the case manager to initiate the authorization process orfollow up on pending authorizations. · Medicalaid Verification: They help verify the patient's medical aid coverage andgather information on the specific mental health benefits provided by themedical scheme.· RecordKeeping.· Assistancewith Appeals to medical schemes. · Closecoordination with the Case Manager.· Communicatewith doctors and patients on arrival times of patients scheduled for admissions· Captureadmissions, upload all relevant documentation on system· Ensurechecklists and audits are completed as indicated· Followdischarge process and archive files· Expectedto stand in for the case manager from time to time when necessary.
