- Effectively monitor and improve of the Food Safety Management System
- Conduct food safety audits and food safety inspections.
- Update and maintain systems registers, records, and documentation.
- Maintain good manufacturing practices, product specifications, supplier certificates, etc.
- Keep record of weekly follow-up on good manufacturing practices (GMP) inspections.
- Arrange food safety and sustainability meetings in collaboration with the QA manager.
- Keeping updated records of local and international related acts, regulations, and standards to ensure compliance.
- Administer the Supply Management System concerning Food Safety; and collaboration with Health & Safety and Finance.
- Administer of the Corrective and Preventative Action System and do regular follow-ups.
- Conduct internal and external supplier audits.
- Assisting with preparation for customer audits.
- Respond to customer enquiries.
- Assist QA Manager in implementing and overseeing a
- comprehensive sanitation/ hygiene validation program.
- training programme of food safety regulations.
- Oversee and assist QA Manager in conducting all applicable training to employees on food safety regulations and processes.
- Assist with Export Documentation (Packing list, Health Certificates, etc).
- Assist our customers with their visitation of our operations.
- Conduct Food Safety investigations and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist with new product development.
- Assist with maintaining company procedures and policies.
- Degree in Food Science or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a food safety role,
- In-depth knowledge of food safety legislation relevant to South Africa.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in MS Access, MS Excel (including data analysis and simulation), and basic understanding of operational research principles.
- Excellent computer literacy with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software programs.
