We help clients determine the right deal to do, and then assist them in doing the deal right.The opportunityWithin SaT, Minvest teams advise our clients on a variety of issues concerning their mining investments, mineral resource estimations, technical reviews, mineral asset valuations, financing and strategic options within the minerals, oil and gas industries. The Minvest team is a specialised mining, oil and gas team of experienced technical professionals including environmental scientists, petroleum engineers, geologists, mining engineers and chemical engineers. We currently have an exciting new opportunity for different mining professionals with different levels of experience based in Johannesburg, South Africa.Your key responsibilitiesThe role is client facing and requires multi-commodity experience. In the role the you will be required to execute on proposals, project management and timeous invoicing. The role may require travel from time-to-time to remote locations.The role is suitable to a person who has gained practical experience at a mining operation and has begun to develop competence in the Mineral Reserve estimation process. The role will require firm understanding of the mining industry with technical mining consulting experience in the following, but not limited, disciplines:Skills and attributes for successOpen pit and/or Underground related experience would be regarded as a MUST.Mineral asset valuation and evaluation experience is requiredAbility to utilise your expertise to conduct a full range of mining engineering functionsDemonstrate a sound understanding of the mining value-chain.Exposure to Technical Due Diligence and Reviews.Exposure in International Public Reporting Codes including but not limited to: SAMREC, NI43-101, JORC and other.Demonstrated experience with cross discipline collaboration in a mining environmentExposure in assisting a Competent Person in Mineral Reserve estimation.Performance/business improvement experience in the mining industry will be advantageousDevelop and mentor junior engineers and technical staff in the skills and procedures needed to effectively deliver engineering and consulting assignmentsTo qualify for the role you must haveA Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering.5 – 10 years relevant practical mining experience at a mining operation or consulting companyStrong interpersonal and communications skills, with the ability to building internal and external networks.Strong computer skills including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and general report writing skillsIdeally, you’ll also haveA holder or studying towards a financial or an accounting qualificationPrevious consulting experienceWhat we look forWe are looking for candidates who are highly motivated, analytical, logical thinkers with an interest in business modelling and analytics, with very strong attention to detail.
