- Matric and (N4 - N6) Mechanical Engineering Diploma
- Mechanical Trade Certificate.: fitting and turning, boiler making, motor mechanics or diesel mechanics
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as Maintenance Mechanic/Mechanical Technician in manufacturing company, preferably in plastic recycling, plastic industry or food packaging or comparable industry with conveyors, extruders, and similar equipment in production.
- Experience in performing daily maintenance routines and repair works.
- Knowledge and understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic.
- Basic understanding of PLC's
- Understanding of production performance metrics, 5S and Health & Safety practices
- Ability to work independently to tight deadlines and proactive in solving problems.
- Willingness to work in a challenging environment.
- Willingness to work in shifts (24/7) and on-call
- Proficiency in English and Zulu language as well as strong interpersonal skills
- Perform regular- and preventive maintenance, trouble shooting, and repair works on the recycling production lines (washing & sorting line, extrusion line), infrastructure (chiller, compressor, boiler etc) wastewater treatment etc.
- Support the production team on troubleshooting in case of breakdowns.
- Work closely together with the production team to prevent breakdowns.
- Ensure the efficient running of the production lines, infrastructure and building maintenance.
- Perform regular knife changes on the grinders.
- Cleaning works as part of the regular- and preventive maintenance
- Documenting the maintenance works, spare parts usage etc.
- Ensure structured spare parts storage.
- Working in shifts (24/7) and ensure proper shift handovers incl. reports.
- Perform welding works and work with machines such as grinding machine, turning lathe, drilling machine etc.
- Execute repair works on motors, rotary valves etc.
- Always ensure safe work conditions (LOTO)
