We offer you the opportunity to establish yourself within a professional, corporate environment in the countryside.Job DescriptionTo do maintenance, services and repairs on all makes of steel and metal structures in accordance with the company’s required standards.RequirementsGrade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent.A valid Trade Certificate as a Boilermaker.3 years’ Boilermaker experience.Experience working with CO2 equipment, wrenches, grinders, drills, ladder, blow torch etc.FMCG Experience will be an added advantage.Boilermakers often lift heavy parts, so they should be in good physical condition.CB – Code B driver’s license.Must be able and willing to work overtime including shifts when required.Duties and responsibilityDelivering high quality work to limit financial losses.To bring up new steel constructions in the plant.Make changes with steel to the construction of the plant.Create new designs and improvements to existing machinery.Welding of structures for improvements or constructions in the plant.Comply with occupational health and safety requirements as per GFC standards and procedures.Access area to be welded by climbing ladder if needed.Bend sections of metal into shape to form outline of part.Maintaining, rebuilding, overhauling & re-conditioning steel structures.Repair or service tanks are used to store chemicals, lubricants, powder and other products.Repair leaks and patch weakened spots.Replace defective parts.Strengthen joints.Operate metal-working machinery to repair or make parts.Operate manual and automated units and equipment by depositing metal from electrode to work piece and joins edges of work piece.Use disc grinder to smooth out, weld, or grind parts prior to welding.Ensuring that the appearance of equipment/ structures conforms to company standards.Maintain other paperwork related to your Job and the Department at all times.Maintain current standards and excellent customer service.Clean-up work area daily.Always maintain a positive and healthy working relationship with all internal and internal stakeholders.Ensure all work is carried out according to SHEQ and company standards.Ensure vehicle/equipment safety procedures are followed to avoid damage to engine components.Operate equipment and carry out all duties in a safe manner.Maintain equipment and tools, protective clothing and work areas in a clean, tidy and safe conditions.Any other duties as may be required by line manager.Skills required.Work requires eye-hand coordination.Good mathematical/ analytical skills.Good communication skills.Attention to detail.Excellent client service.Conflict handling.Ability to work under pressure.Ability to follow directions, instructions and work as a team member.Ability to function independently and in a team.Be self-motivated, enthusiastic, and trustworthy.Other InformationThe company can expire jobs at any time at their own discretion.VKB Group and/or its subsidiary companies will use any personal data collected through the job opportunities section of this website for recruitment purposes only and, should your application be successful, for purposes connected with your employment.VKB Group is an equal opportunity employer.
