Supply Chain Manager - KZNFull job descriptionSupply Chain ManagerHammarsdale, SAAs our new Supply Chain Manager, you’ll be coordinating all supply chain activities for the site in close collaboration with Group Procurement and Group S&OP functions.Covering site purchasing, scheduling, warehousing and distribution, you’ll be responsible for setting out the site (local) supply chain strategy; supporting the negotiation of specific raw material contracts with vendors and ensuring smooth supply of all raw materials to the site in conjunction with Group Purchasing.You will be ensuring that our plants are utilised effectively through sound scheduling practices in conjunction with the Group Demand Planners. Some of your key responsibilities:Lead the supply chain strategy and will be responsible for, and manage, all site supply chain KPIs.Management of inventory to ensure that working capital is used effectively whilst ensuring customer supply.Manage warehousing and distribution to ensure finished goods are shipped safely and on time.Identification of improvement areas and integration of business system processes with the group ERP systems.Operate within all appropriate HSE legislations and ISO 9000 procedures.Overall accountability of inventory, warehousing, and distribution activities of four major stock holding points (Hammarsdale, JHB, Cape Town and KZN). What do I need to be successful in this role?We’d love you to have knowledge of logistics operations with experience of hazardous chemicals.You have the ability to effectively influence, and gain the support of, internal and external contacts and stakeholders at all levels.You’ll have a strong awareness of the demands of change management and the ability to address and manage conflicting interests.Demonstrable experience of working within a best practice and implementation.You are a real data driven individual with the ability to effectively utilise data, for business evaluation and decision-making.
