- Responsible to lead and co-ordinate all Occupational Hygiene and emergency preparedness & response matters to ensure legal compliance including, the compilation, implementation and maintenance of OH COP's, risk assessments and related documents.
- Implementation and management of effective OH strategies and systems based on risk assessment outcomes.
- Manage OH measurement and monitoring strategies, investigations, and the reporting there-off.
- Report on the effectiveness of Emergency preparedness programmes.
- Completion and submission of statutory reports to the DMRE.
- Degree in Environmental Health / Certificate in Mine Environmental Control issued by the Chamber of Mines of South Africa or equivalent.
- Intermediate Certificate in Mine Environmental Control issued by the Chamber of Mines of South Africa and be certified as an Occupational Hygienist by the Southern African Institute for Occupational Hygiene (SAIOH).
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Occupational Hygiene in a mining environment.
- Minimum 2 years' experience managing an Occupational Hygiene Department.
