SERVICE TECHNICIAN Trade certificateBellvilleReporting to the Area Service Manager the primary purpose of this position will be the hands-on servicing installation and commissioning of boilers, i.e. Heavy and Light Fuel Oil, Gas, Coal and Electrically powered boilers. Willing to travel regularly (local and abroad) and willing to work long hours.QUALIFICATIONSTrade Certificate (Millwright/Electrical or Instrumentation/Electronics)An unendorsed drivers licenceDiploma in Electronics/Electrical Engineering will be advantageousProject Management certificate will be advantageousCertified gas practitioners license will be advantageousWiremans license will be advantageousEXPERIENCEA minimum of five years Electrical or Mechanical experience in an after-sales-service environment also covering the following fields: Mechanical Fitting, Electronics, PLC Controls, Maintenance, Fault Finding and InstrumentationDrawing up and understanding wiring diagrams for PLCsPanel building, design and layout of electrical panelsBoiler servicing and commissioning will be advantageousComputer literacy-MS Office, emails and internetKEY RESPONSIBILITIESStand-by duties covering mechanical and electrical servicesInstallation and commissioning of new and second-hand boilers, burners and auxiliary equipmentSupervise and manage all site work with your team being hands on in the field and officeCommunication with the client and you senior suggesting repairs and possible site improvementsMake sure data packs are updated and loaded onto the systemMake sure all site work is done safely and as per company procedure (make sure all paperwork is in order before work commences)Do courtesy calls to clients and find new workDo and assist with quotes on new enquiriesFollow up on orders and have site orders signed off for invoicing purpose.➢ Must be able to work away from home for a minimum of 1 week at a time when necessary.➢ Interviews will take place in Cape Town no online interviews permitted.
