Design Engineer - SolidWorks - Fire Technology Vehicles - East Rand

• Minimum 3 years design experience in Fire Technology Systems
• Experience designing on SolidWorks.
• Experience in the fire industry preferably designing vehicle systems.

• Compile FRA, drawings and reports for mobile installations.
• Follow specifications, FRA, photos, and calculations to create technical drawings.
• Prepare both rough sketches and technical drawings on SolidWorks for mobile and fixed

• Communicate with Operations Managers of both mobile and fixed departments, and incorporate knowledge gained into drawings.

• Review and redraft existing drawings where necessary.
• Ensure final designs are compliant with and industry standards.
• Identify and communicate potential design issues.
• Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets based on current project and team needs.

• Provide support to mobile and fixed team member during the design and development phases of projects.

• Generating bill of materials (BOM) and material specifications for projects.
• Maintaining organised records of drawings and design documents for future reference.
• Design and support prototype development and testing activities for fixed department.
• Develop and maintain electronic document management system.
• Any other task given to you by a duly authorised person.
