SAFTEY OFFICER POSITION – EAST LONDON

Position: Safety Officer
Start Date: Immediately
Working Hours: 08h00-17h00
Salary: Market Related
Area: Northern Cape

Job Summary:We are looking for a Safety Officer to join our team.The position is about Planning, establishment, implementation and maintaining a variety of Occupational Health, Safety , environmental programme in order to ensure that the Highest possible degree of safety for workers/employees is in place. Building and maintaining relationships with relevant stakeholders
The responsibility to promote the Safety, Health, and Environment of the organization.
To establish and maintain the legal references (Applicable Acts and Regulations)
Establishing and maintaining legal appointments
Responsibility in terms of coordinating and training of employees in the SHE processes and procedures
Adhering to SHEQ policies and procedures
Conducting of internal OHS audits
Ensuring the implementation of SHE procedures
Compiling and maintenance of safety file
Health, safety and environmental
Set the highest possible standards of leadership in promotion of HS&E procedures and best practice, ensuring compliance with Company procedures and legal obligations
Allocate HS&E responsibilities and duties for site personnel, check understanding and provide training as necessary
Maintain and manage construction sites and subcontractors, ensuring all subcontractors
Follow Drop Dot's procedures and processes
Oversee and ensure that SHE-related documents are kept up to date and undertake senior manager site inspections, ensuring that audits and reports are produced, liaising with the necessary parties
Liaise with third parties to ensure compliance with required regulatory standards

Minimum Requirements:

MUST HAVE 5 plus years in the same or similar job and have a good experience with Building Construction
Relevant tertiary qualification SHE
Qualification with a minimum NQF Level 5
Must be Registered with SACPCMP as a professional Safety Officer (Full Registration not Candidate) Supplementary training in the following: HIRA, Fall Protection Planner, Incident Investigation, Basic Rescue at Heights , Fire Fighting, ISO 45001,ISO 14001 awareness and implementation.
Position requires one to be honest and ethical
Computer literate
Must have good verbal and communication skills
Must be medically fit to work on a construction site
Competency in contractor management
Diligent and good communication
Incident investigation competency
First aid level 2
